You will need to upgrade to the full version of Kontakt to use the free Kontakt libraries without limitations. The vast majority of free third-party Kontakt libraries will only work in demo mode in the free Kontakt Player plugin. All Kontakt libraries will work just fine in the full version of Kontakt. Question: Why do I see the DEMO notification in Kontakt?Īnswer: The DEMO button is there because you’re using the free Kontakt Player plugin and not the full version of Kontakt.

The license comes at a cost, though, and for many indie sound designers who make free Kontakt instruments, it doesn’t really make sense to pay the licensing fee. The license enables third-party libraries to work in Kontakt Player. It is because the company that created the free Kontakt library paid a licensing fee to Native Instruments. So why do these particular third-party sound libraries work in Kontakt Player? Both are free and both will work in Kontakt Player. There’s also the Jay Maas Signature Series Drums Lite Edition by Room Sound. One such example is the Kontakt Factory Selection library that is provided by Native Instruments and included in the Komplete Start bundle.Īs for third-party libraries, one recent example is The Free Orchestra by ProjectSAM. Some (only a handful, really) free Kontakt sound libraries can indeed work without interruption in Kontakt Player. However, the free Kontakt Player plugin can only load these free third-party libraries in demo mode. It will work just fine in the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt. What’s important to understand here is that the Kontakt library you downloaded is free. But since i can't have it all i need to decide on one of the three.Kontakt Player demo mode in full glory – notice the big red DEMO notification. In each of the possibilities i can settle for the stock options i already have, whether it be stock pianos, stock fx, stock synths - or i can go for the better pianos, better fx, additional samples and synths. So as the title says, it's "stock vs special". Delays, reverbs, compressors, eq's, limiters etc etc.īut Soundtoys 5 is also leagues above with its sweet tone.

I also have the stock fx and processing tools in cubase pro 8 and Komplete.

There are the stock pianos and e-pianos from Komplete, but this is a few leagues above. Being a keyboard player from the age of 7, this appeals to me as well. But then i heard that 30 minute demo and was WOW all over. Then i heard the KeyScape from spectrasonics. As this is a new upgrade i doubt there will be a discount anytime soon. I won't lie - i want these and have use for them in my music. Upgrading to Komplete Ultimate 11 will get me Reaktor 6 with all its blocks, that new FORM synth with the crazy sample mangling, a bunch of new sampled instruments such as una corda piano, emotive strings, symphonic selection, India, and some fx and ensembles such as flesh, replika xt etc. I'm debating between upgrading from Ultimate 10 to Ultimate 11, OR getting the new spectrasonics Keyscape, or going for the Soundtoys 5 bundle. Let's call it a "Stock vs Special" dilemma. I sold my Nektar Panorama P1 cause i didn't gel with it, and some other stuff, and now have 400$ to spend. So now i'm starting sort of from scratch. It was full of Uhe, waves, xfer, valhalla, soundtoys etc etc.

I'm saying "from scratch" because i got my previous PC from a guy that installed a bunch of stuff on it, let's say, "no questions asked". I'm saying 'sort of" because i have Cubase Pro 8, Komplete Ultimate 10, Maschine 2 with a bunch of expansions and Omnisphere 2 - along with a bunch of analog synths and Elektron analog Rytm. So i bought a new PC and started, sort of, from scratch.
